Budget No Longer Stands in the Way of New Worlds and Stories

Prague studio Eden Makers releases the first episode of its Eden Originals anthology.

Until recently, making a series or a film took millions and years of chasing investors. Prague-based studio Eden Makers is showing there's another way — today it releases the first episode of its anthology Eden Originals. After the July trailer that hinted at the anthology's multi-style world, the team arrives with a finished nine-minute mini-episode, made in a matter of weeks and without a million-dollar budget.

In format, Eden Originals takes after Love, Death + Robots: each episode has its own visual world, its own genre, its own rules. The first episode opens the anthology with a quiet, dreamlike world on the edge of fairy tale and sci-fi that transforms over the course of the episode into a harsh metropolis. Future episodes will wear entirely different visual coats and genres — from western through animated styles to a photorealistic approach.

Directed. Not Generated. The studio builds its communication on a clear distinction: this is not about generating, it's about directing. Modern tools are the brush and the camera; the decisions always stay with a human.

“We're not software users, we're filmmakers. The new tools are our brush and camera, but behind every shot stands a director, an edit, and a decision made by a specific person,” says Gedeon Drapák, CEO of Eden Makers. “We want to show that creation can be done this way too: more accessibly, for people who have an idea but not a million-dollar budget.”

Eden Originals will continue with a new episode roughly every three weeks. With each episode, the studio will publish a making-of revealing its process and the tools the team works with. With this open approach, Eden Makers targets not only sci-fi audiences but also brands and agencies, showing how premium visual work is made today without traditional production barriers.

The anthology premieres primarily on the studio's own YouTube channel, without a classic distribution middleman. Eden Makers thus remains a direct channel between creator and audience.
